Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor)
  • The submission file is in Microsoft Word (docx.)
  • Where available, URLs (Uniqe URL such as DOI prefered) for the references have been provided
  • The text is 1,15 spaced; uses Calibri font and a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines

Author Guidelines

Al-Muamalat Writing Guidelines

1. General Requirements:

  • The article must not contain any elements of plagiarism, with a maximum similarity index of 25%.
  • It should not be published or under consideration for publication in another journal.
  • The article must be written in English, using Microsoft Word, Calibri 12, 1.15 line spacing, and A4 paper size.
  • Submission should be made through https://journal.uinsgd.ac.id/index.php/mua/index.

2. Article Structure:

Articles published in Al-Muamalat should focus on issues related to Law, Sharia (Islamic law), Islamic Economics, and Society. The essential elements in the articles are:

  1. Title
  2. Author's name, institution name, and e-mail address
  3. Abstract and keywords
  4. Introduction
  5. Research methods
  6. Results and discussion
  7. Conclusion
  8. References

3. Writing Style:

  1. Articles should be written using MS Word, A4 paper, in 5 to 30 pages, with 1.15 line spacing and Calibri 12 pt font.
  2. The article title should be specific and effective.
  3. Author's names should be accompanied by their institutions and email addresses, without academic titles and job titles.
  4. The abstract, in both Indonesian and English, should be a single paragraph (150-250 words) covering background, objectives, research methods, results, and conclusions.
  5. Keywords should consist of 3 to 5 words reflecting the paper's concepts.
  6. The introduction should cover background, literature review, purpose, and problem formulation.
  7. Research methods should include the design, research subject, data collection, procedures, and technical analysis.
  8. Results and Discussion should analyze recent data, test hypotheses, answer research questions, and discuss findings.
  9. The conclusion should summarize research findings and suggest recommendations.
  10. References should provide 80% primary and current literature and 20% textual citations (max last 5 years).
  11. Sources and numbering should accompany tables, graphs, and figures.

4. Citation and Referencing Style:

Footnotes and References should follow the Chicago Manual of Style 17th Edition (Full note). Use reference management tools like Zotero.

5. References:

The References should be arranged alphabetically based on the cited author's last name, following the Chicago Manual of Style 17th Edition (Full note).

6. Arab to Latin Transliteration:

Transliteration guidelines in this journal adhere to the Joint Decree of the Ministry of Religion and the Ministry of Education and Culture No. 158/1987 and Number 0543b/U/1987.
